Sorry if this is the wrong way to report this, but I can't see any other. Requests for timezone, e.g.
http://ws.geonames.org/timezone?lat=47.01&lng=10.2
are all timing out. They were working as recently as an hour ago. I also tried appending username to the query string, but it didn't help.

The free services are having performance problems lately during the daily backup / dump due to steady increase of usage. I fear we will have to reduce the max allowed credits per ip address on the free services to get rid of the problem.

We have moved the backup/daily dump to a new server this solved the performance/availability issues during this process.

The load on the free servers, however, is still high and if it continues to grow we will have to decrease the number of allowed credits per ipaddress.
