Adjoining city, instead of actual one reported. How to correct?  XML

For example, I live nearer to the center of a nearby city than the center of the one I live in. Therefore my location is reported as the nearby city, not my own. Can geonames be corrected to fix that or does it just use city centers?

I did a bit of searching in the forum and didn't see anything, although I'm sure this has been asked before.

I am afraid this is currently not supported. The nearby features for city is based on the lat/lng center value. There is not enough data available for an international service based on boundary polygon informat, so we have to make do with what is available.

Thanks for responding. Saves me digging for something I didn't think was there.
