We have seen many Italian towns that are listed twice in Geo. As populated place and ADM3. Is there a reason for this?

PPLs are populated places (in fact they should be changed to PPLA3) and ADM3 are admin divisions. There is a listing for each of these two concepts.

But what is the reason to have two of the same? We are having the same issue in france. Can we delete one? Let me know

adm and ppl are not the same. for instance look at this thread:

adm are ususally bigger than ppl and several ppl can be contained in one adm. In Italy you also have more ppl than adm3. The name of the adm is usualy the name of the largest ppl, but this does not make them the same.
