hey all,

I'm new to geonames and I have a couple of questions,
When I search for washington on the website I get as first answer:
http://www.geonames.org/search.html?q=washington

Washington, United States, District of Columbia.

I downloaded the allCountries.txt file and when I look for washington I don't get the 'District of Columbia' info, is there a file that contains the name of the region or did I miss something?

Other question, why can't we download the database dump in RDF format?

thanks in advavnce

Pat

Hi Patcito

The name of the state is in the file admin1Codes and it refers to the admin1code column in the allCountries table.

The rdf dump is not generated daily. You can send me an email for the latest dump.

Cheers

Marc
