There are 33701 “Official Towns” in the U.S (a.k.a County Subdivision, CIVIL ...) which lack population data. Some don’t have corresponding Populated Places and are the sole identifier. Please fix this at the data source.

Example:

Township of Venice

GEONAMEID: 5175068
GNIS FEATUREID: 1086957
CENSUS GEOID: 3914779674

Census FactFinder:
2010 SF1 100% Data
County Subdivision
All County Subdivisions within Ohio
