We're using GeoNames's Postcode Lookup service on our site in order to convert a place name to an area and this works great.

The issue arises where we try to do the reverse. For example if I put my postcode "LE2 3AD" the placename that gets sent back is "Castle Ward" when the area I live in is Clarendon Park.

Is there any way the correct placename can be sent back?

Cheers!

Hi Steve

I am afraid I don't see a quick solution. We are missing the data required to link "LE2 3AD" with "Clarendon Park". The UK postal code data is a mix of several data sources, unfortunately "Clarendon Park" isn't included in any one.
For the outer codes we use a list of city names and for the full codes we use polygon data from ordnance survey. The wards and parishes are the best we can do at the moment until new data sets become available.
