hello, i would like to propose to remove prefixes and suffixes for administrative levels. they are causing very long strings and are not consistently implemented. for example, all "kommune" in Sweden are listed like this:

- Stockholms kommun
- Göteborgs kommun

while all "kommune" in Norway are listed without the suffix:

- Oslo
- Bergen
- Trondheim

the prefixes cause strings to be very long, making a mess in a user interface when putting in an auto-complete/dropdown box.

- Arrondissement de Saint-Martin-Saint-Barthélemy
- Arrondissement de la Grande Riviére du Nord
- Arrondissement de Villefranche-de-Rouergue
- Arrondissement de Saint-Julien-en-Genevois

- Politischer Bezirk Waidhofen an der Thaya
- Politischer Bezirk Sankt Veit an der Glan
- Politischer Bezirk Sankt Johann im Pongau
- Politischer Bezirk Mistelbach an der Zaya

i have stripped away the prefixes for a dozen countries on my local machine, and would be happy to share this in the central database. i would hope that other people would help remove this for other countries too.

could we go ahead with this, marc?

We can add them as alternatenames. The version without admin type flagged with 'isShortName'.

If you can provide a csv file with the data (geonameid,longname,shortname) we can insert it easily.
