Hi all, i'm new into this forum and first of all i would like to truly thank all the team of geonames, what you gave us is really unvaluable!

I have a brief question: i have the all countries db loaded locally, but my queries won't ever go down to less than a town... just towns (and hierarchy back to the country), so what do i have to remove to have a clean database? I mean, is there something that can help me understand how to implement this query without having to specify all the unneeded entries one by one?
Are there other ways to speed up the database?
