While parsing the database dump, I noticed that there are quite a number of entries with an empty feature class or feature code. I count 89729 of them. Of course as a percentage of the database that's small, but as an absolute number it is not.

I'm sure that this is a known problem, but would it make sense to give these entries a special feature code or class? That way they can be selected in the editor.

And perhaps some of them can be categorized based on their name? I notice a lot of 'Piste', 'Pont', 'Marina', 'Phare', 'Parc', 'Trailhead', and 'Statistical Area', and so on. I would be willing to have a go at this myself, but I'm not familiar enough yet with the feature codes, and ways of submitting batches of changes.

We don't want that the editor supports features without a feature code. All features should have a feature code. Those without a code are from batch inserts/updates.

The name can be an indicator a featurecode. If you want to provide a list of name patterns and their respective feature code we can run a batch update for them.

I think I phrased that unclearly. What I mean is that at the moment you can not explicitly SEARCH FOR features without a feature code in the editor.

So, what I suggest is that you introduce a new feature code, for example UKNW, and batch-update all entries without a feature code to have UKNW. That way, people using the editor can explicitly select to show features with an unknown feature code, so that they can then assign the correct feature code. Similar for unknown feature classes.
