I can't figure out how many credits are used for an auto-suggest script similar to this: http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/remote-jsonp.html

Are 4 credits used for each city I retrieve? If I auto-suggest 10 cities that would be 40 credits total? How about if I also retrieve the latitude and longitude for a city?

The search service requires one credit per lookup:
http://www.geonames.org/export/credits.html

It is one credit independent of the number of cities found and the lat/lng is included in the result. You find the documentation of the service here:
http://www.geonames.org/export/geonames-search.html
