Hello all Geonamers!,
we just released a new, free heat maps service at Tixik http://en.tixik.com/tools/heatmaps. I think that this service is not so common for free. Because we love Geonames, we decided to return Geonames the service you all give to us. So, there is a little enhancement only for Geonames users, where you can see almost live heat maps for concrete data types, OR you can provide any other data set you wish. The public heat maps service is available at http://en.tixik.com/tools/heatmaps, for now undocumented heat maps for Geonames have usage like this :
http://en.tixik.com/m/?heat&geotype=RSRT (tourist resorts heat map)
http://en.tixik.com/m/?heat&geotype=MUS (museums)
etc...
In case of first time loading, this is needed to wait for few tens of seconds/minutes before all tiles are loaded properly.
What do you say about that service? Would it be helpful for someone?

Cool!!! The only one who was ever giving it into public was heatmapapi, but for sometime-users this is a nonsense to pay. Great service!

Hi, no, there are no restrictions. However, if you plan to use more than 10.000 markers loaded from CSV file, please let us know - we need some prediction of hardware resources. A friendly back link to Tixik.com would be appreciated (I think that this is a little cost in compare to our server costs)
