Can I find out what is the source of a any geoname and its location ?

Also, there are no data sources listed for Australia so are the 62,591 entries a combination of subsets from some of the global data sources plus manual entries from registered users ?

the main source is the nga database from the us government. population is from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
