AlternateName.zip file contains two text files.
1. iso-languagecodes.txt
2. alternateNames.txt

iso-languagecodes.txt is also available as a separate download then why it is include in the alternatenames.zip.

A lot of the files in the download directory are redundant and not strictly necessary. They are there for your convenience and because other users have asked for it.
