Hi There,

I i run a search for a place in geonames website im getting the results very quickly but if i recreat the geonames db in my MySql db instance a simple select is taking very long time to complete.

if the select is taking long time the if i link this db to my webserver and publish it it will take long time too right? could any one suggest me over how to make this process better please.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are a lot of services on the geonames site. If you don't specify which service you are speaking of it is difficult to help. In any case, for most services there are already discussions on this forum about implementation and performance issues.
