Hi,

Is there a way of determining on which continent a place is?

I tried the hierarchy web service, but it does not work for Russia. For example, Kamchatka (http://ws.geonames.org/hierarchy?geonameId=2125072) gives the result Globe -> Europe -> Russia, even though Kamchatka is in Asia.

The continent is determined on the country level. There is no service to determine the continent for a lat/lng.
