I tried to add spots and roads to my city, but after the refresh the spot doesn't match what I clicked before.
For example http://www.geonames.org/6941789/hofplein.html which should be a fountain to the left of it!
I gues it is an issue of rounding? or is the map not correctly aligned?
When I tried it with entering geo coordinates (instead of pointing on the map) it worked perfectly.
Later I tried to move a location, but then the same thing happened: when I clicked on the correct location I saw a line pointing in a totally different location. I suppose this line should point directly to the right location?
Furthermore I found out that the offset (the deviation from what I pointed with my pointer) is not the same for every try. Sometimes it deviates to the north-east (for example) and sometimes some other direction!
The goal was to move the entry called 'Hofplein' (yellow R at left top).
So I clicked on 'move'. With my mouse I focussed on the blue fountain (see 'correct' arrow). What happens next is what you can see: the marker is placed further away than it was before!! (the right!).
I use IE, the newest (8?). Do you understand what is happening (looking at the screenshot)?
I thought it may be the difference between miles and kilometres or so, but also the direction is wrong.
It is a very strange behaviour, because clicking in Google Maps works as it should work.
Easiest way to correct this problem if using IE8 is to select Campatibility View from Tools menu.
And the best way to correct this problem is just to stop using IE8 and get FireFox. Or Opera. Or Safari. Or any other browser that is standards compliant and not broken by design.
