Sorry if this has been asked before, I look through the forums and could not find the answer.

First, thanks for supplying this data. It's wonderful.

However, for my purposes it's a little overkill

Is it possible to download a file with only city/first-order admin div/country?

I am not sure how useful an additional download would be. It could cause confusion among users about which download file contains which information.

There are more than 2.3 Million cities/populated places in our database. This is more than a third of all entries :
http://www.geonames.org/statistics/total.html

The size of a separate city download would be in the same order of magnitude as the full download.

If you need the cities only, I suggest to load everything and remove all entries exept for the ones with feature class = 'P'.
