hi,
I needed some simple tool to visualize data in geonames.org databases, so I created this web app:

http://my-track.net/ascii/

currently it visualizes data from world-cities-1000 and slovak republic and it's in pure text positioned with css (no images are used).

it's clickable - click a place to zoom in.

This is quite cool but why not rather link to google maps?
