Several municipalities (ADM4) in Belgium have merged in December 2024 and January 2025, see also the following list

https://statbel.fgov.be/fr/propos-de-statbel/methodologie/classifications/geographie

The INS code between brackets is the LAUC on geonames ADM4

Could these changes be integrated ? Thanks

This update is not optimal: the usage of French default names in Flanders is not well received by locals. As pointed out by bart.hanssens in a previous message, there is also a Dutch variant of this site, which could have been used for cross-checking the names: https://statbel.fgov.be/nl/over-statbel/methodologie/classificaties/geografie.

Where necessary and if seen by me, I will try to correct them. Any help here is welcome .

do you know the definition of these language codes?
FN, N, D, F

D could stand for German, but:
63012 Bullange D 63012 Büllingen D


The first looks French, the second looks German

Well, the layout of the file is a bit confusing...

The language codes in that file can be ignored, since they don't reflect the language of the name in the other columns (they represent the official regional language in that particular municipality, with can be Dutch, French, German or bi-lingual Dutch-French)

There's also another official source (based on the addresses databases of the 3 Belgian Regions), with a JSON version which should give a better idea of the names being used in NL/FR/DE

Note that there isn't always a name in another language, often there is no official (or commonly used) translation.
