Hi!

I'm using the geonames (https://download.geonames.org/export/dump/shapes_simplified_low.json.zip) file base and when trying to get a location based in an IP I will receive {"latitude": 47.816,"longitude": 7.5571). That location is right and is in DE Germany (city Neuenburg am Rhein that can be confirmed in Maps), and it is not identified in Germany by the base DE but in France FR.

Checking the DE file base I was able to find a near position that is 6558091 Neuenburg am Rhein Neuenburg am Rhein 08315076,Neuenburg am Rhein,Stadt Neuenburg am Rhein 47.8167 7.56667

I understand that issues like this can happen in borders, and I'm not sure if it can be updated or how to solve this. I appreciate any thoughts and advices.

not sure I understand the issue. Does it mean you are looking up a border point in the simplified boundary polygon?
In this case you can consider using the premium polygon dataset instead of the simplified one.
