Hi,

Geonames is great for maintaining geo information and i use it to add/edit missing/incorrect info on peaks nearby.

Unfortunatelly google map as a base map is quite useless for this - as in the mountains there are no features that would be useful for checking the correct placement of the point (unless there already is a google map tag as well - but those are often misplaced too).

Would it be maybe possible to add some topographic layer (e.g. mapy.cz has very nice outdoor map based on OSM)?
Alternatively even terrain map for Google maps would be a great improvement as then i could at least use the shading and mountain elevation shapes as a hint.
