I already discovered that there is the table alternate names for the gazetteer data, which contains a small amount of postal codes. By far the amount of postal codes in the gazetteer data is not as much as in the postal code database. That is why i want to combine the both databases. Is there any standard method how geonames.org does this? Has this already been done? Any suggestions on how to reliably do this?
