Geonames search weird result

Hello, since this is my first post, I would like to say a big THANK YOU for such a great resource!! GeoNames rules!!

Having said that, I'm getting some strange results, and as a beginner with geonames, I would like to understand why the search is failing and if there is something I could do.

The search is "Barcelona Cataluña", "Barcelona" is the city and "Cataluña" is the region to which it belongs. I have double checked that the query is utf-8 urlencoded. And it also fails to find the city in the geonames search web interface.

Interestingly, "Barcelona Catalonia" or "Barcelona Catalunya" do fine, which is weird because "Catalonia", "Catalunya" and "Cataluña" are all equivalent.

Why doesn't GeoNames find this city this way?

Cheers
