Streets

Hi,

I'm very new to geonames and I'mnot sure, if it is right formy purposes.
I want to create an ontology, in which I can store Information about addresses. I need: country, city, street andpostal code.

I retrieve countries by featureCode: A.PCLI, cities by: P.PPL, and streets by R.ST. I can get the information, in which country the city is. The biggest problems are streets: I find only 14 streets in Germany + there seem to be no Information, in which city the street is (only parentADM1).

Where can I get more streets and retrieve the information, what city it is in? Is the reverse geocoding the only solution?

Lets say, I want to get all streets in Berlin. Do I have to look for lon and lat of Berlin first and then use the function nearby or within?

Thanks for any help!

Hi

GeoNames does not have any streets, except for the very few you mention.

For streets you would have to use the osm reverse geocoding service.

Best
