Odd behavior with postal codes

Hi

I am using the FindNearbyPostalCodes webservice to get the nearby postal codes for the US cities. The results seem really odd since it returns farther away postal codes instead of the near ones for the zip passed. For e.g. searching for 94588 (Pleasanton, CA) I expect to see the codes of Pleasanton city and nearby cities first. Instead it gives back codes for cities 30-50 miles away. Even restricting the radius to 5 miles it won't return the nearby ones unless I increase the maxrow to a larger number.

Why is this?

Thanks

ARK

Can you elaborate more on what you get and what you would expect?

I am looking at this link:
http://api.geonames.org/findNearbyPostalCodes?postalcode=94588&country=US&radius=10&username=demo&style=full

It looks ok to me.
