Cities missing from citiesXXXX.zip download

I just downloaded cities1000, cities5000, and cities15000 and imported them into a Google fusiontables. However, upon mapping out all longitude and latitude values it becomes clear that entire countries are missing data.

I only get city information for south america, Australia, Bangladesh and some island group in Sweden and Pakistan. Maybe a few more but point is that most of the world is missing (Like North America, Russia, East Asia).

Could anyone explain or give some advice if I am missing something here?

I dug into this further and opened the cities1000.txt in notepad (painfully slow). I then searched for various cities in regions missing from the fusion Table and they were there.

It seems like the import to Google Fusion Tables somehow fails to load a lot of data. I can share the table if you want to know more.
