Wrong altitude data (astergdem)

Hello,

I'm using the astergdem (premium) api to fetch multiple lat/lon sets.
Today I found out that some area's return wrong data. Not all lat/lons are wrong in those area's, but most of them are.

Example:

Latitude: 52.13739
Longitude: 4.414078

http://api.geonames.org/astergdemJSON?formatted=true&lat=52.13739&lng=4.414078&username=demo&style=full

Returns an altitude of 245 meter. This should be around 1 meter.

The srtm3 return 0 meters, which is better, but I prefer to use the astergdem source.

Is there an explanation for the incorrect data that the astergdem returns?

Thanks,
Erik
