Time Zone File Layout Change

Hi Marc

The "timezone.txt" file layout has changed since the last time I downloaded it. Country code field has been added and placed at the first position in line. However, "readme.txt" file has not reflected that change yet, neither I found a word of advice in the forum. Well.... I've got a few questions: does Geonames let premium data customers know of this kind of change in advance? Does it send a e-mail announcing it ? How much time before the change?

Thanks in advance

Regards.

Hi Gilros

The premium data subscription has a monthly release cycle with release notes. Changes to the file structure are announced in advance in the previous release notes and of course in the release notes when the change happens.

Best
