I'm new to geonames. I inadvertently changed an existing entry by accident. How do I switch it back, and add a new replacement? RE: GeonameID = 6136944 the original info was Saanich, BC, CA and should still be. I should have created a new entry for Building Blocks. I didn't understand what I had done at the time. I do have all the correct information here. Should I just create the new entry, and change all the old Saanich info back? Or is there a moderator who can roll the previous entries back to before I messed with it?? Thank you, Mike Burton

Hi Please delete: 8211424 - Valley Lake It was previously named "Kettle Malpe" (non-existent place) and I renamed it to "Valley Lake", but that already exists (8211271). So it's just a duplicate that needs to be deleted now. Thanks! Anthony

There are duplicate entities for Hot Springs, Arkansas 8605040 - Incorrectly named as Hot Springs National Park, but should have its alternate names moved to 4115412, and then deleted. (There is no town of "Hot Springs National Park". There's a 'Park' for this national park, and there's an adjacent town of "Hot Springs") 4115412 - The correct looking populated place entity for Hot Springs, Arkansas. To have the additional postcodes added from 8605040's additional names. Can I get help with making the above changes? (FYI, there already exists a 'Park' entity for Hot Springs National Park, 4115424, which is why I'm not saying this entity, 8605040, should be retained and be re-typed as a park). Thanks

There is confusion with the names of several mountain villages in UAE and Oman, close to the upper reaches of Wadi Khabb. To try to clear up the confusion, I toured the area and interviewed its inhabitants. The village located at coordinates 25.62523, 56.1805 is called شِدفة, transcribed into English with the alternative names of Şidfah;Sidakah;Sidaqah;Şidaqah. This data also coincides with the reference given by the National Atlas of the United Arab Emirates. This has now been corrected, and is listed under ID 12750300. However, the name of Şidaqah is also added to ID 390013, which corresponds to the village of Jarhi or Dirat Jarhi, according to the same National Atlas of the United Arab Emirates. I tried to delete the name Şidaqah in ID 390013, leaving only the names Jarhi or Dirat Jarhi, but the system does not allow me to do so. Could you please delete it yourself? Thank you very much

The first feature is the populated place, the second the administrative division. So they are not exactly the same. The first is the seat of the later for instance. Best Regards Marc

Their Arabic name is صخيبر or شعبية صخيبر‎, and the different variants that appear are a result of the use of different Arabic transliteration rules. There is a slight difference in the coordinates, but it is the same town. The correct one is the one listed second. Thank you very much

thanks I have deleted Argenbühl as ppl. Though the German postal office is using Argenbühl as a placename. I have added the postal code to the municipality to model this.
