Time zone for Page Arizona

Geonames returns America/Denver for Page AZ (36.9147°N, 111.4558°W), but the city does not observe daylight saving time (it is not part of the Navajo Nation, apparently).

I believe it should be returning America/Phoenix for this location instead.

Anyone have any further insights here?

Thanks,

Stephen

PS. I'm asking because I'm here right now and became puzzled when my application started reporting incorrect times.

I was told that the Navajo Nation area starts just outside town (I believe I saw a sign indicating the boundary on the way in on route 89). That area does observe DST, it just seems that Page itself does not, despite the fact that it is more or less attached to the Navajo Nation area.

Cheers,

I have added a circle of ca 10Mi radius around Page with 'America/Phoenix'.

Hi Mark

Many thanks for that. This map appears to show the actual boundary of the Najavo reservation:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/Navajo-Nation-Map-PHS.jpg

It looks like 10 miles is about right.

Is there any documentation anywhere that talks more about how the timezone service works? I'd be interested to know how the regions are defined and what sort of accuracy can generally be expected.

Best,
