JSON altitude lookup

I would like to be able to lookup up the gtopo30 for multiple points at once.

Can this be done?

What would the URL look like?

http://ws.geonames.org/gtopo30JSON?lat=38&lng=77&lat=37&lng=78

only returns data for the first lat/lng pair.
