Hi,

I discovered an error in location 179068 (Trans Nzoia District). The adminName1 is "Western", but it should be "Rift Valley".

I tried to change it, but I got the following response:

"error while saving:
the name is locked and may only be updated by users with a user level >= 2. Your current user level is 1"

How do I increase my user level? Also, could somebody fix this error in the meantime?

I have changed the adm1 for Trans Nzoia District to Rift Valley.

The user level is a security feature to protect the data integrity. It is increased for experienced GeoNames maintainers and contributors. You can send me an pm with your geonames username in order for it to be increased.

The same error here ...
Is about the GeoNameId : 2264397 - Portugal, located at coordinates - N 39° 30' 0'' W 8° 0' 0'' ...
I think the "correct" location is at - N 39° 41' 40'' W 8° 7' 49'' in the Geodetic center of the country in Melriça, Vila de Rei ...
Could someone with suficient rights correct this small error ?
