Hi, Marc:
I have one doubt about files:
alternateNamesDeletes-2007-02-13.txt
alternateNamesModifications-2007-02-13.txt
deletes-2007-02-13.txt
modifications-2007-02-13.txt
In last days, these files are empty, but for example, today in the url http://www.geonames.org/recent-changes.html, there are changes and new geonames.
I am watching it bad?
Thanks once again for all and regards
Isa

There was a problem in the dump script. Thanks for the error report.
I have fixed the problem and I have implemented a check for an empty modifications file. From now on I will get an email if it is empty and I should thus be the first to notice any problems.

Hi Marc:
Excuse me for bothering you again.
I have another doubt: in the last night file of modifications: modifications-2007-02-14.txt, there are many geonames with same name but different latitud, longitud and elevation, for example:
5461947 Church of God Church of God 32.1131814 -103.1935127
5461948 Church of God Church of God 32.8995325 -105.960265
5461949 Church of God Church of God 35.171723 -103.7249662
5461950 Church of God Church of God 35.9911344 -106.080579
5461951 Church of God Church of God 32.8384074 -107.3205795

Is this ok? Really are they different sites? Or are they the same and in this case, must they have the same geoname_id?
I'm confused.
Once again, thanks for everything and regards,
Isa

Hi Isa

This is a major batch update in progress. The data is from the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, an official source and quite reliable. Nearly all our data for the US is from the same source and we are now updating to the newest release.

Ok, I understand it.
Thanks,
