Is there any chance of the AsterGDEM web service being updated to use the V2 GDEM mentioned here: http://asterweb.jpl.nasa.gov/gdem.asp ?

The 90m resolution of SRTM3 is becoming a bit limiting for my application, but the potential for bad data in AsterGDEM v1 is also a challenge...

Thanks!

Hi Stephen

It is on the todo list, at the moment we are working on processing the new srtm 1 arc dataset. It will hopefully be available in the service in a week or two.

Best Regards

Marc

But Astergdem v2 would be better then SRTM1?
I've read that still has artifacts.
Version 2 shows significant improvements over the previous release. However, users are advised that the data contains anomalies and artifacts that will impede effectiveness for use in certain applications

Asking about SRTM1...

Is it definivelly better then SRTM3?
I know that SRTM3 data has been processed to fill points with no data.

Does SRTM1 have same post-process?
Is SRTM1 maybe more noisy then SRTM3?

Thanks
