Is there interest in having UN/locodes associated to places with geocoordinates?
I did some data joining. The result you may see at this hmap.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread like this, but is there currently a way to query GeoNames for unlocodes?

Hi Alex

The UN/Locodes have in the meanwhile been included in the premium data subscription. However, they are not yet included in the services.
How would you like to query with them?

there is a parameter 'searchlang' to restrict the query term to the specified language.

Example:
api.geonames.org/search?name=lug&maxRows=100&username=marc&searchlang=unlc
