I tried to hit it with the Ruby client library today.

I got the "The requested resource (/timezone) is not available." in HTML. Same thing with other services.

Did anything experience this?

I have been seeing this most of today as well.

Specifically, I have seen "the hourly limit of 20000 requests for the IP address 88.198.9.5" when I try a request in my browser. This is *not* my IP address, so I wonder if there is a configuration issue?

I get the exact same response.

<geonames>
<status message="the hourly limit of 20000 requests for the IP address 88.198.9.5 has been exceeded. Please throttle your requests or use the commercial service." value="19"/>
</geonames>

And I, as well, am sure my IP address is NOT 88.198.9.5

we had a disk crash and had to replace a server. The ip address you have seen is the one of the new server which was not yet configured properly on other servers in the cluster.

I guess the limit was reached again, heh

I think everything is configured fine now and these issues are solved.

Thanks for the updates Marc.

This morning I've been experiencing sporadic success with requests, but both successful & unsuccessful have been very slow. Any idea when it may be fully back online?
