Hello,

Although postal codes are OK, the geographic areas to which they point on Google Maps are wrong. There are at least two places in Poland bearing the name Lodz. All postal codes starting with 90- to 94- are in Lodz (second largest city in Poland) 51.783 N, 19.467 E, however the coordinates to which they are linked on Google Maps refer to a small village Lodz (52.267 N, 16.75 E), west from Poznan (postal code start with 6).

It seems that GeoNames database is used on Facebook, where, after entering postal code starting with 93, 'Poznan area' is shown instead of Lodz (I found this page by clicking 'Lookup' on Linkedin).

You can check that yourself: http://www.geonames.org/postalcode-search.html?q=90&country=PL point to http://www.geonames.org/maps/google_52.267_16.75.html while correct Lodz is http://www.geonames.org/maps/google_51.783_19.467.html

Will you please correct that in the near future?

Thanks. We have rerun our geocoding with a new improved version and deployed the new data set with the fixed coordinates.

Best

Marc
