Hi Wasem

GeoTree is using the GeoNames database and the hierarchy can be extracted as discussed here : http://forum.geonames.org/gforum/posts/list/852.page

You don't have to create new threads for the same topic.

Thanks Mark for cooperation.
I am going to create a classification of places then i have to match these places and check that what relations between them which place is up level and which is lower level.
ForExample if i match two places washington and usa it tells me that usa is at upper level and washington at lower.
Can you give me some idea how can i do it?Its very useful for me if you give me some data about geotree. How it is working behind?

Thanks so much!It is very good forum. It is a way to share knowledge.

You can use the hierarchy web services as Christophe said in the other thread or you can implement the services yourself. In any case you really have to sit down, read the documentation and understand the self reference and the feature codes. Or higher someone to do it for you if you don't want to do it yourself.
