Hi, Marc:
one question about AdminCodes.

In the data dump, there are three files for admin codes:
admin1Codes.txt
admin1CodesASCII.txt
admin2Codes.txt

For ADMIN1, in the admin1CodesASCII.txt file, we have the ID, in the admin1Codes.txt, not.
For data I am using, of ADM1 in main file, 163 aren't in admin1CodesASCII.txt and 74 aren't in admin1Codes.txt

For ADMIN2: this file have the ID

How is now this matter? Both files are correct and updated?
And last, for ADMIN3 and ADMIN4, in the future there will be files?

Surely in the forum there is a subject that explains this. Would you tell me where?

Thanks for all again and regards,
Isa

Hi Isa

The adminCode files are generated from the main database and contain the information from the toponym with the respective feature code (ADM1, ADM2,etc) you can easily create the information yourself for ADM3 and ADM4.
The admin1Codes has some more rows, these are obsolete administrative divisions that no longer exist but some users may want to know what the code stands for. There are also wrong codes for some records. This thread is discussing orphan admin codes :
