I found a couple of countries and their neighbours are not bi-directionally link.
Eg: The neighbours of Serbia :
Albania
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bulgaria
Croatia
Hungary
Macedonia
Romania
Socialist Republic of Montenegro

However, if I search for neighbours of Albania, Serbia is missing as its neighbour!!

neighbours of Albania:
Greece
Macedonia
Serbia and Montenegro

Another example is Brazil and French Guiana. Brazil see French Guiana as a neighbour but not the other way round. Please have a look into this issue

Thanks for pointing this out. I have written a consistency check and fixed all problems.

i have also found a couple of bugs, (not related to the neighbours).

- there are 3 countries with geonameid=0;
Aland Islands
Antarctica
Heard Island and McDonald Islands

- I also found some countries have 2 name under the same language;
For Geonameid = 718075, there is 2 english name.
1561597 Macedonia
1976522 Republic of Macedonia

these are the ones that I can find. Have a look.

I will add geonameids for the territories you mention.

Countries, places and all other features can have as many names per language as they like per design. There are two flags 'isPreferred' and 'isShortName' to flag some of the names for the same language.

Other flags that we have not yet introduced good be 'coloquial' etc
