Hi!

I would like to use the Dump in the following manner:

I give you a LatLng-Point, you give me the country (and/or the subdivision) that contains this point. Pretty much the same way as the webservice does.

However I cannot find any polygons that describe countries or boundaries in the SQL Dump... Am I blind or is there really no way to do that by using the dump?

I would keep using the webservice, but it's becoming awfully slow recently and more than often the connection simply times out before I receive a response.

Thank you very much for your help !!

Hi Marcinx

Polygon or Vector information is not yet included in the dump.

Cheers

Thanks for your reply.

Do you have a rough schedule on when this is gonna be included ? On country base this shouldn't be that very complicated, since it would be just ~ 210 rows. Am I correct ?

Anyway - whenever it is gonna be implemented, thanks a lot for the wonderful work you're doing. Your webservices rock! Small donation on the way. Have a nice evening.

Hi

Thanks for the donation.

Some countries have complicated forms with a lot of islands. The polygon for Alaska has 70'000 points.

Cheers

Marc
