Hi,

In my opinion Google Maps lacks one major feature: coloring/highlighting whole countries.

I'm working on a travel community and I want to color the countries that a user has visited red, the ones he wants to visit soon blue etc etc.

Through an offline app some company has achieved this result:
http://www.casa.ucl.ac.uk/googlemaps/world-GDP.html

Does anybody know of a way/tool that allows me to tell preferrably Google (or alternatively MS Visual Earth or Yahoo Maps...) to highlight countries?

Thanks!

They are using the Google Map Creator from the UCL CENTRE FOR ADVANCED SPATIAL ANALYSIS :

The Google Map Creator is freeware and you can use it for your own application and website. Otherwise you can try using filled polygons.

Hey thanks. but isn't this software tool an application you can install on your pc, work with it offline and then upload the result to the net?

I need something that works online... :-/

Thanks!
Kai
