Hi,

I'm wondering if when duplicate features are found, and one of them is deleted, a "tombstone" is saved anywhere that says that geonameid XXX is now geonameid YYYY?

Daily deletions can be found in "deletes-YYYY-MM-DD" files:
http://download.geonames.org/export/dump/

The last column usually mentions why the entry was deleted (eg. duplicate of XXXX).
