Trying to get JSON data via:

http://api.geonames.org/findNearestIntersection?lat=38.70783&lng=-123.43999&username=XXXX

All I get in return is:

<geonames credits="1.0"/>

Not a new street/area ...about 40 years old.

Any ideas?

An intersection requires two crossing streets. I see only one street nearby. If you want to get intersections in the distance then you have to increase the radius parameter.
