Hi everyone,

I am currently developing a web application, specifically a free ai pet portrait generator. I want to add a new feature where users can tag the geographic location (city or country) of their pets when they save their generated art to a public gallery.

I am planning to use the GeoNames API to auto-suggest cities when the user types in a location field. Since my app is free, I expect a potentially high volume of concurrent searches.

Before I fully integrate this into my NestJS backend, could someone clarify how the free tier rate limits (hourly/daily limits) are counted? If I make the API calls directly from my backend server rather than the client's browser, will my server's IP get temporarily blocked if multiple users search at the exact same time?

Any advice on the best practices for caching GeoNames data to avoid hitting the limits would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
