Hi, I'm pretty new to the GeoCodes, but I have a question regarding the data.

It seems PPL may both contain small city / village and a district.

Example:

* 764783 Mikluszowice is P/PPL -> village
* 3085807 Skawina is P/PPL -> city
* 3094230 Kurdwanów is P/PPL -> city district

Now, the question: How to distinguish between these three? I'd like to get all cities, but with no villages and no city districts.

Distinguishing between a small city/village and a district of a city often boils down to their size, administrative boundaries, and functions. Small cities or villages typically have smaller populations, limited infrastructure, and distinct local governance structures. In contrast, districts within a city are administrative divisions that may encompass multiple neighborhoods or communities and are usually governed by municipal authorities.

@reecemegan:

Yes, but - for example- in Poland, there is a clear distinction between city, village, and district.

District is an official part of the city.

Village and city are distinguished from each other. A village can be promoted to be a city.
