Hello,

I discovered the issue while using Immich that rely on your service to do reverse geo lookup.

If you look at https://www.geonames.org/6059891/longueuil.html you'll see it's surface overlap with Montréal causing a part of it to be considered as part of longueuil.

Example of API request:

http://api.geonames.org/findNearbyPlaceName?lat=45.5273417&lng=-73.5481917&username=MY_USER_NAME

This should say Montréal, not Longueuil.

I don't have the right (neither knowledge) to fix this. Can somebody update properly Longueuil to not overlap with Montréal ?

I have moved Longueuil to the center. This service is just returning the closest populated place and it is therefore not very accurate.

What I note is that we are missing the neighborhoods for Montreal.
I have found this list. Does it look reasonable to insert as PPLX?

@marc that would give even more detail to Montréal. They look good to me.

Also you're sure longueuil was moved ?

I still see it overlapping on the map:
