Hi there,
I'm using GeoNames in some geospatial code and I would like to help update the data for some countries.
For instance, in Peru, only ADM1 data is present (save for 1 entry in ADM2 and another in ADM3).
However:

1. my user level is 1 so apparently I cannot add new places
2. manual addition via the web interface is quite tedious if one wants to add many entries

Is it possible to propose batch updates to, e.g. PE.txt so that they can be imported all at once?
More generally, is there a git-like source where one could propose these changes?

For Peru we have:

26 | ADM1
196 | ADM2
1873 | ADM3

Where are the adm2 and adm3 missing?

thanks for your answer; could you tell me how you access these?

Downloading PE.txt and filtering for "feature code" being "ADM2", I only get a single result for "Provincia de Chupaca".

I got the PE.txt file via https://download.geonames.org/export/dump/PE.zip, did I miss something?

You must be making a mistake with the filtering. I am getting this:

     196    4455   34427

My bad, I was focusing on places with population > 0 (since it worked for France and Japan, I wrongly assumed it worked everywhere).

Just in case I'm still interested in other ways of contributing besides the interface, though
