I'm trying to compile a list of mostly European postal codes. I need the code and name for the location in 3 languages (Dutch, French and German).
But:
- There is no way to reliably link the postal code to an entry in the main geonames list. The administrative subdivisions are not always entered (admin4 and sometimes admin3 is missing), the name of the location is not always mentioned in the main list. The postal codes doe not have a deoid mentioned.
- There is no reliable way to translate the name: many entries in geonames have no language code or are mentioned in several languages in the name field. Many alternate names are missing a language code (Bulgaria is an example but there are others)
- Many locations do not have their postal code mentioned in the alternate names with language 'post'

How can I compile this list?
