Now in GeoNames is Czech Republic as Czechia. Please repair it back to Czech Republic, it`s an official name of this country.

Hi Tom

Some users for The Czech Republic asked to add a short name Czechia as it seems to be the 'official' short name for it.
The longer 'Czech Republic' is still marked as 'preferred'.

Is this disputed in the Czech Republic?

Best

I think yes, because Czech Republic is composed of three historical lands, Bohemia, Moravia and Czech Silesia. Bohemia as "Čechy" and Czechia as "Česko" in Czech language is very similiar, so "Czech Republic" better described whole country.
